Como esperava,DM num festival nunca seria igual a um concerto em "nome proprio".Mais á frente explico o porque...
WELCOME TO MY WORLD,um bom tema no disco mas ao vivo completamente dispensavel.Não seria melhor o HIGHER LOVE (por ex) como primeira musica?Penso que sim,mas enfim!Sobre este tema tambem destaco pela negativa a projeção.A parte do texto gosto,mas aquelas bolas coloridas são no minimo ridiculas e sem sentido.ANGEL,no disco é um dos temas que não me diz muito,mas ao vivo ate "bate bem" e o jogo de luzes ajuda "á festa"...WALKING IN MY SHOES,é so a minha musica preferida dos nossos DM!Nunca irei conseguir exprimir o que sinto ao ouvi la.Um dos momentos altos para mim por razoes obvias.PRECIOUS é um grande tema e adoro a letra,mas na minha opinião escolhia outro tema com mais "punch" ja que acho que os nossos boys tem na setlist muitos temas "calmos".Sobre a projeçao dos cachorrinhos,não gosto!Não compreendo e nem a quero compreender!BLACK CELEBRATION soube tão mas tão bem ouvir!Deviam tocar mais classicos como este!É DM no seu melhor!!!POLICY OF TRUTH destaque aos 3 boys nos ecrans durante a musica!É aquele tema que sabe bem "cantarolar"...SHOULD BE HIGHER,é a minha musica preferida do ultimo album.Foi amor á primeira audição e ao vivo com a projeção brutal ainda mais gostei!Uma das melhores projeçoes desta tour na minha opinião.BARREL OF A GUN era dispensavel,next!!!SHAKE THE DISEASE foi "pura magia"!O Martin cada vez canta melhor e por vezes parece mentira por cantar de forma tão perfeita!Adorei o momento.HEAVEN tem uma projeçao tambem brutal que acompanha e bem a musica!So mudava na "historia" da projeção as mascaras "á lá veneza",de resto está belissimo!Sente se que o Dave "ama" cantar este tema.SOOTHE MY SOUL foi um tema que me foi conquistando com o tempo!Quando lançaram o video passei a gostar ainda mais e ontem ao vivo,fiquei rendido!É um grande tema!Obrigatorio nesta tour!A PAIN THAT IM USED TO...Bem,o "arranjo" ou versão ou sei lá o que chamar a "isto" é medonho!De um mal gosto extremo,e ainda por cima "levar" com o Gordeno na guitarra,poupem me e não brinquem com o pessoal.Apetecia me dizer umas asneiradas mas fico me por aqui!!!QUESTION OF TIME será sempre um momento alto em qualquer concerto dos DM!Fiquei muito feliz quando vi o publico "aderir" ás palmas no final da musica.(mais á frente explico o porque da minha felicidade...).ENJOY THE SILENCE é um dos momento de "celebraçao"!Tudo a cantar,fâns e "anonimos" todos unidos!É um momento magico e inesquecivel!A projeção é brutal com os corpos femininos em destaque.PERSONAL JESUS.Adoro o inicio bem lento da musica,quase a morrer e depois a "explosão"!Será sempre um grande tema ao vivo.O publico nesta musica nunca desilude e o final é sempre brutal!HOME,mais um momento magico do Martin!Como ja disse parece mentira a voz dele ser tão perfeita!Final do tema foi uma tristeza,ver o Martin a "puxar" pelo publico e quase nao se ouvir "resposta" foi embaraçoso!No Atlantico será melhor eheheh (esperemos).HALO é um tema fantastico mas esta versao/remix é francamente má na minha opinião.Já a projeção está simples mas bonita e gosto do final quando a modelo se vira e mostra a palavra HALO nas mãos!JCGE é a "malha" do "povo"!Ate a minha avó gosta da musica eheheh.Será sempre um tema contagiante que nos faz dançar e cantar sem parar!A projeçao é uma mistura de mira tecnica das tvs dos anos 70/80 e bandeira gay!?!?Fiquei sem perceber bem a ideia,mas nesta musica é pouco importante!Final do tema foi uma vergonha ver que Mr Fletcher não consegue tocar meia duzia de notas...Como é possivel uma banda como os DM permitirem uma "brincadeira" (de mau gosto) destas??!!??(vejam o video no post em cima).I FEEL YOU é DM no seu lado mais rock!Ao vivo funciona sempre!A projeção é fraca!!!Aquela silhueta a dançar "á lá hip hop" é no minimo estranha!Por ultimo NEVER LET ME DOWN AGAIN para mim foi o momento da noite,e digo isto porque achei o publico tao adormecido que o momento dos braços no ar fez me sair do concerto feliz!Concluindo,achei que o Dave está a cantar muito melhor do que na ultima(s) tour(s),que o Martin é como o vinho do porto,quanto mais velho melhor!Que ficava bem ao Fletcher "treinar" um bocadinho o JCGE porque foi realmente vergonhoso!Sobre as projeçoes temos umas muito boas e outras que parece que foram feitas a despachar.Sobre o publico foi francamente mau!O concerto no Atlantico dá 10 a 0 a este na minha opiniao,mas sinceramente ja esperava porque foi num festival e temos os fans e os festivaleiros...Foram raras as vezes durante o concerto que o publico fez o "seu trabalho"...Precisamos de mais um concerto desta tour so com DEVOTEES!

Um concerto que nos pareceu meio "morno",talvez por culpa do publico!Esperemos que em Lisboa seja bem melhor!
Destaque pela negativa,ao "A Pain that im used to",completamente "assassinado"!!!Pessimo arranjo na nossa opiniao,e so nos faltava era ver Mr. Gordeno na guitarra,no thanks!!!Dois momentos divertidos neste concerto,Mr Fletcher no final do "I just can't get enough" a "brincar" com o synth,e no final do concerto ao tirar a sua camisa,Epico!!!Enjoy the concert...

David Gahan quietly lurked, death-disco pounded on

Depeche Mode frontman David Gahan quietly attended a listening party for Delta Machine, his band's upcoming 13th album, held last night at a posh Manhattan nightclub in Chelsea. The album was queued up, and the announcer from Columbia gave some bare facts before pressing play: It's 2013, 13th album, 13 songs, out March 22, and then, "This is their first album with us. We're happy to be working with them." The bar crowd talked loudly through the whole affair and when the final note played, it took a full 15 seconds before anyone noticed the silence. Someone clapped, hoping it wasn't just an electrical outage, and then the whole clan joined in. After another awkward moment, the club's mix kicked back in: "Suit & Tie." Everyone went back to drinking, as if they'd never heard a thing.

Here's what we heard, while sitting alone in a chair inside that sad, dark disco.

1. "Heaven" is a Fake-Out
For some unfathomable reason "Heaven" is the lead single for the album. It follows the template for every Depeche Mode song since producer Ben Hillier's arrival in 2005: a teasing, minimal drum line, bigger-is-better vocals, and a wide stereo chorus. The only thing out of that order here is the painfully slow tempo. A strong bass groove and tight drum fills shape this syrup into near-trip-hop, but Gahan barrels where he should be fragile. It's not a bad song, it's just not the best choice. The good news is that the single is a fake-out: the rest of Delta Machine is harder and weirder.

2. "Should Be Higher" Should Be Higher
This death-disco creeper is by far the best track on the album. All the traditional elements of Depeche Mode get held back or rearranged or sung in falsetto so that, while still classic, the song sounds fresh. It's also the best mix. You know that high whistle on U2's "With Or Without You," the one you can't forget once you hear it the first time? This song has the same thing, only it's a sizzle.

3. There Are More Songs About Faith and Devotion
Martin Gore said that this album would have the vibe of Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion, which is to say unapologetic pop tinged with blues and guitar. "Slow" and "Goodbye" are his takes on that tradition. The former throws out a big blues guitar line then wanders from the form into a hazy Spiritualized-style gospel choir. The latter is more traditional, a spartan hook turned lush at the chorus. With Flood's mix, it contains lovely musical moments of vocal excess shifting imperceptibly into instruments. For those of you reading song-lyric tea leaves, this track means just the end of album "goodbye, again," a bookend to the inconsequential opener "Welcome To My World."

4. Even Legends Suffer From Anxiety of Influence
Depeche Mode are in their third generation of being the biggest synth band on the planet, and for the last decade that honor has mostly been a songwriting curse. The attempts to put boundaries include the minimal techno track "My Little Universe" that actually mostly works, except when Gahan leaves the ominous reptition of "I let no one in / No one" to sing less pithy cliches. "Soft Touch/Raw Nerve" is a revision of history where DM was more industrial than pop when the instruments were and sounded hard. The less said about "Angel"'s mid-song techno identity crisis, the better.

5. Yes, Virginia, There's a Martin Gore Song
There's always at least one song sung for Team Gore, and this one is a bitter ballad. "The Child Inside" begins with a solemn Mingus-y bass line that adds big synth pads and flourishes of electronics but little percussion. Listening only once amid chatter made it hard to pick up all Gore's narrative, but we did catch this: "I can hear that dreadful sound / Watching from afar I see a child's drowned / The child inside your heart."

New Studio Album ‘Delta Machine’ Set For Release March 26th on Columbia Records

Depeche Mode to Debut Video for First Single ‘Heaven’ on VEVO Next Friday, February 1st

(Columbia Records; New York, NY; January 24, 2013) – Depeche Mode have announced they will release their highly anticipated 13th studio album, entitled Delta Machine, on March 26th worldwide via Columbia Records. The album, recorded over the last year in Santa Barbara, California and New York City, was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood. In addition to the album announcement, Depeche Mode have also confirmed that the video for the first single “Heaven” will debut on VEVO next Friday, February 1st. Alongside a standard CD format, Depeche Mode will release Delta Machine in an exclusive Deluxe Edition with four additional new tracks and accompanied by a 28 page hardcover book including photos by longtime artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn (please see track listing, as well as album and single configurations below).

Martin Gore said of the release, “Writing this album was incredibly daunting as I wanted the sound of this collection to be very modern. I want people to feel good about listening to this record, to get some kind of peace. It’s just got something magical about it.”

Dave Gahan added, “With this release we’ve completely shifted our idea of how to create an album. When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we’ll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode Sound. Delta Machine is no different, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear it.”

Following the release of their new album, Depeche Mode will embark on a European stadium tour, kicking off in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park on May 7th. They will perform 34 shows in 25 European countries, featuring appearances at Milan’s famed San Siro Stadium, the Stade De France in Paris, and Moscow’s Locomotive Stadium before wrapping up the European leg of their tour in Minsk, Belarus on July 29. A full North American tour will follow, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
